Who we are

About Combo Wireless

We're an approved Lifeline provider that pairs qualifying wireless service with two free devices, because one screen often isn't enough for work, school and health.

What we do

Combo Wireless provides Lifeline-supported wireless service with unlimited talk & text and a qualifying data allowance on the T-Mobile network. For eligible customers who enroll, we include a free device combo: two refurbished devices chosen from phones, iPhones, tablets, iPads and laptops.

Our relationship to the government programs

We want this to be crystal clear:

  • Combo Wireless is a company, not a government agency.
  • Lifeline is a federal program overseen by the FCC and administered by USAC. California LifeLine is a state program overseen by the CPUC. We're approved to provide service under these programs.
  • The programs provide a discount on qualifying service. They don't provide or pay for devices.
  • Our device combos are Combo Wireless offers, free to eligible customers who enroll, subject to availability and our terms.
  • Eligibility is determined through the official verification process (the National Verifier, or the California LifeLine Administrator), not by us alone.

Why combos?

A phone keeps you reachable, but many everyday tasks are easier on a bigger screen: telehealth visits, homework, job applications, benefit renewals. We built our offer around pairs of devices so households can do more with one Lifeline line, sharing the phone's connection with a tablet, iPad or laptop over hotspot or using Wi-Fi.

How we write this website

People searching for a "free government phone" deserve straight answers. Our content explains what the programs actually do, uses official sources for every program figure, and separates government information from our offers. Read our editorial policy.
